  1. Maryland Military Historical Society

Very nice site a records. I enjoyed using it this past week.
  2. Danish Research records

I have restarted my efforts using Danish census and Church records. Though the Family Search site has a wealth of information, it seems to hard to find with so many linked pages. Gotta find a concise resource.
  3. Game of Thrones

Still enjoyed last night's episode. Seems there is a bit more to Dany and John.
  4. Rigsarkivet: Danish Church Records

Danish Archives are providing digital online records, found by accessing their homepage (link below). Lutheran State Church records, Danish National Census records, and other resources are available online. https://www.sa.dk/ In the middle of the page in a grey section is Arkivalieronline. This is the most interesting area I have found. The small pull-down menu area allows you to search for the various records. In my first use I went to Kirkeboger. and then press SOG it bring you to another selection area.... Select Kirkebøger fra hele landet as this will bring you to the Church Records from around the country. Then you will need to select a region AMT and a village area. Once there you can determine if records are digitized for the dates in question.

  6. My family came from the area surrounding Aarhus. We are thinking about a trip, but less of one for research with records and more of one to see the area, churches, and villages.
  7. User driven focus?

Are there any regional research efforts that you would benefit from? If so, let us know.

German Ancestral Studies will conduct a focused research event this Saturday. Primarily we will look at the Westerwald region of Germany and some of the records that are available in our center.
  12. Game of Thrones

Has got to be my favorite program for the last years. I can't remember another show that had me anticipating the next episode.
  13. The 5 Immigrant Dunschmanns, Westerwald

I think I have solved much of the riddles for Johannes Peder Dunschman now. Just a few more things to verify.
  14. How this will work

We are trying to sort through the mant postcards that we currently have on hand. There is a wide variety of used and unused cards so we are trying to figure out the best way to present them on the site. We believe that even though some of our cards have never been used, they are still fascinating to look at. Due to this, we will be taking digital images of those cards and placing them into our site galleries. For the postcards that have been previously used and mailed to someone, we are going to attempt a transcription of the card and to provide other meaningful data as we are able. Since the primary information on the card is the Adressee, we will title each DB entry using the name of the ADDRESSEE: Last name, First name. Adress mailed to Date and location of cancellation on card We will also include a digital image of the written portion of the card so others can check our transcription for accuracy. Lastly, the postcard entries will leave a forum comment area so others can comment or provide feedback. We hope we can find some homes for the momentos and family notes.
  15. Database and upgrades

The USA databases have been updated and are now available. We have also gotten some new information added for Michigan and Oregon.
