  4. The Clay County Museum is housed in the former Clay Center Hospital building constructed in 1925. The structure served as a nursing home before it became the location of the museum in 1975. If you look to the left underneath 'In this section' you will see two forms that you may want to fill out. By filling out the Clay County Birth form, you will help improve our records of people born in Clay County.   6. The Union Cemetery Historical Society (UCHS) was organized in 1984 under the guidance of the Kansas City, Missouri Parks and Recreation Department. Its original purpose was to collect data about historic Union Cemetery and to gather biographical information about the people buried here. As a result of those efforts, the UCHS published “Tombstone Inscriptions” in 1986, a hard-bound book that lists many of those who rest in the cemetery. The UCHS also published a series of 10 pamphlets containing collections of obituaries and biographical sketches gathered mostly from microfilm copies

  8. The town of New Santa Fe (or Little Santa Fe, as some call it) stood at the junction of the Santa Fe Trail and State Line Road, now southwest Kansas City.
