  1. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/50841534605/ This Facebook page is the online meeting place for members and friends of the Colonel George Waller Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. Founded in 1958, we serve a wide regional area, including most the Martinsville-Henry-Patrick County areas of Virginia, but we also serve parts of Franklin County, Floyd County, and Pittsylvania County.
  2. Welcome to the website of the Pittsylvania Historical Society. We believe that Pittsylvania County has an extensive and complex history. None of it should be forgotten or allowed to fade in ruin, whether it be structures, artifacts or written documents. The Society is involved in many significant ongoing projects for members to enjoy while sharing Pittsylvania's rich historical heritage with both members and the general public. Collecting, restoring and preserving artifacts is a major ongoing task of the Society. Most of these items are stored at the 1813 Clerk's Office in Chatham, the Society's meeting place and museum. http://www.pittsylvaniahistoricalsociety.org/
  3. Organized in April 1978, the VA-NC Piedmont Genealogical Society is a non-profit educational society that has as its purpose to preserve and share with persons having interest in the Virginia counties of Franklin, Henry, Pittsylvania, and Halifax; the North Carolina counties of Rockingham, Caswell, and Person; and other such Virginia and North Carolina information pertinent to these counties and their inhabitants. The Society maintains and staffs a Search Room adjacent to the Genealogy Room at the Danville Public Library. Holdings available in the Search Room include a collection of over 5000 books, early maps, microfilm, microfiche, journals and newsletters from genealogical societies in over 20 states, local cemetery and funeral home records, obitiuaries, city directories from 1878, etc. http://www.vancpgs.org/contents/index.php Membership is open to all individuals, families, libraries, and societies. Members receive Piedmont Lineages which is published quarterly. The Society meets the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 PM on the top floor of the Danville Public Library. Visitors are welcome. Danville Public Library, 511 Patton Street, Danville, VA
  4. We created this page to display county information for each state. Our team is engaged in building out the content to populate this page, sharing genealogy and history information. In the near future, we will be adding our library records which contain Books, Newspapers, Photos, Postcards, and other unique materials. Some of these are being presented to connect descendants with their family heirlooms (postcards, journals, Bibles). These library records will also be useful to those wanting assistance in finding an entry for their ancestors; we will perform "lookups" as time permits. If you have suggestions for content or basic input on the website, send us a message. We would be happy to incorporate your ideas. As we continue to populate this page, it should become more useful in your research so please check back soon!
