This is a difficult topic to understand for me.  I always took the path of creating a family tree and if there was a source from Ancestry, accept it and move on.  Little did I know that the power of sourcing is much more than that.

Another aspect was that I thought sources were books, not just a record or entry.  That held me back from getting more value out of those sources.

From today forward I am going to value and utilitze sources to a far greater extent,  I was actually using church books in a novel way from my perspective, I was trying to extract all of the data from the godparents or other parts of the baptism record, but I was just typing that into the notes section for the individual concerned, vice establishing the source record and attributing it to all those facts that were included instaed of just the baptism.
