There was also a major portion of this war that occurred in the Rhineland. Initial conflicts were in today's France west of Strasbourg. But subsequent efforts of France pushed further east towards Mainz and capturing wide areas of todays' Pfalz. A Russian element along with others pushed the French back towards Trier and won a battle at Clausen in 1735. This was really a point of territorial definition. Link to post Share on other sites
